Katherine Sutton

Katherine grew up in Belvedere, CA and attended the Reed School District.  She earned degrees in Art History and Business Administration from the University of Southern CA, and shortly after opened Gallery1988, an art gallery and media company in Los Angeles.  Gallery1988 was founded in 2004 to promote young artists who were ignored by the existing art world of that time.

During the pandemic, Katherine wanted to be closer to her family in Marin County, so she relocated back to Tiburon, where she now lives with her husband and two children.  Katherine runs Gallery1988 remotely, traveling to Los Angeles every three months.  

After returning home to Tiburon, Katherine joined the Belvedere Tiburon Library Art Committee, and was co-chair of the exhibit “Recapturing Humanity Through the San Quentin Art Program.”
