6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Founders Room

Did you know we have black bears in Marin County? Join the North Bay Bear Collaborative to learn about these fascinating wild neighbors, their habits, and how they share our local environment.

Step into the hidden world of North Bay black bears with naturalist and educator Meghan Walla-Murphy, founder of the North Bay Bear Collaborative (NBBC).

Hear how scientists and local communities are studying these remarkable animals and learning to coexist as black bears return to the North Bay — and the simple steps we can each take to share the landscape safely.

Meghan Walla-Murphy, founder of the North Bay Bear Collaborative, is an expert in wildlife tracking and ecology. With more than two decades of tracking experience, she works to understand the growing bear population in Sonoma, Napa, and Marin counties and helps people connect with both the natural world and their inner landscapes.

The North Bay Bear Collaborative is a working group of agencies, non-profit conservation groups, landowners and individuals committed to being proactive liaisons between humans and bears. NBBC's aim is to mitigate future challenges that may arise from the North Bay’s increasing black bear population.
