with Filmmaker and Town Historian Dave Gotz

Thu Jan 11, 2024
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

This unique 50-minute documentary features interviews, archival photographs and rare film of events that took place on the Tiburon Peninsula in the 1950s.

Tiburon Town Historian Dave Gotz will present his documentary "Turning the Tide: Saving Richardson Bay."

It includes:

  • The story of the dramatic community effort which blocked a massive, 2000-home
    development proposed for the tide-lots of Richardson Bay;
  • The history, rescue and transport of the iconic Lyford House;
  • Tiburon’s “Goat Lady”, who donated her valuable acres which became
    the Richardson Bay Audubon Center.

Dave Gotz has been the Town of Tiburon Historian since 2015 and recently retired as the Archivist for the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society after occupying that position since 2009. He continues to make short films about Tiburon Peninsula history utilizing the vast collection of photos and historic information contained in the Landmarks Archives. These shorts are accessible online.
