Build a cardboard friend and bring it to life with code! Kids ages 8-12 explore Micro:bits, AI, and sensors in this whimsical, hands-on workshop. Perfect for young makers and future engineers!

Give your imagination a "brain!" In this whimsical, hands-on workshop, kids ages 8–12 will transform simple cardboard and craft materials into their very own "Very Useful Monster."

But this isn't just a craft project—it’s a deep dive into the world of physical computing!

What your young maker will do:

  • Design & Build: Use cardboard and crafts to give their monster a unique personality.
  • Code with Micro:bits: Learn how to program "brains" for their creations using easy-to-learn coding blocks.
  • Explore Tech: Go beyond the basics! We’ll experiment with light sensors, buttons, radio communication, and even the basics of AI.

From making a monster "feel" emotions to teaching it how to talk to other robots, your child will build a strong foundation in computer science while playing.

No prior coding experience is required—just bring your imagination!
