Main Nave Refresh: We are moving the shelves

Starting Monday, Dec. 15, access to the Nonfiction collection and the Main Nave will be limited as we move books and furniture. Thank you for your patience as we improve your library.

We are rearranging the Nave to create a user-friendly layout and add more seating in the quiet parts of the library.

Here is what you need to know about the schedule and service changes:

Key Dates & Timeline

  • Monday, Dec. 15: Some subject areas will be relocated
  • Friday, Dec. 19: Our team begins rearranging shelving
  • Early January: Project completion.

How does this affect your use of the library?

To complete this work safely, we will need to restrict access to certain areas:

  • Nonfiction Collection: Unavailable starting Dec. 15 until the project ends.
  • The Main Nave (including most meeting rooms): Closed to the public starting December 19 until the project is completed.
  • Fiction & Mystery: May be temporarily unavailable starting Dec. 22

What Remains Open

Most areas around the perimeter of the Nave will remain open throughout the project, including:

  • Children’s Room & Teen Room
  • Computer Room & Makerspace
  • Gallery, Corner Books, & Founders Room with tables and chairs for working and studying

We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance the library for you.

We are rearranging the Nave to create a more user-friendly browsing layout and add more seating in the quietest parts of the library.
