About the performers

Hailing from New Orleans, Mick Berry has been performing for over 50 years, including drumming, singing, acting (M.F.A. UNC Chapel Hill), hammered dulcimer, piano, stand up comedy, and four critically acclaimed one man shows. Additionally, he has co-authored three books: The Drummer's Bible: How to Play Every Drum Style from Afro-Cuban to Zydeco, The Bassist's Bible, and Stage Fright: 40 Stars Tell You How They Beat America’s Number One Fear.  As a stand up comedian, he has performed at The Improv (Seattle; Tempe AZ; Santa Monica); The Comedy Connection (Boston); The Punchline (San Francisco), and countless other venues throughout the United States.

Karen Buchanan is a local comedian, storyteller and comedy show producer who grew up as a toddler in the Summer of Love in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury. She first started performing standup comedy as a teenager in the 1980s and performs all over the Bay Area. For almost two years she has produced and hosted the successful weekly Kaleidoscope Comedy Show at Kaleidoscope Coffee in Point Richmond, where she is an active Community Leader, currently serving as Board President of the Richmond Museum Association. Karen is a versatile performer, performing in musical theater and Shakespeare productions as well as leading entertaining history hikes around the Bay Area.

David Kleinberg, now 81, is a native of San Francisco and has never lived elsewhere. He spent 34 years as an editor and writer at the San Francisco Chronicle, the last 14 years as editor of the Sunday Datebook. After leaving The Chronicle, he and his wife ran Elderhostel (now called Road Scholar) programs for 11 years at the Tiburon Lodge. As a comedian, Kleinberg has opened for Richard Lewis and Bobby Slayton, and has appeared with Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Arj Baker and Sinbad. He has also written and performed four solo theater works about his life – all of which had runs in San Francisco.

Holly Shaw has been featured at clubs and showcases all over the Bay Area and Northern CA including Sacramento Punchline, Cheaper Than Therapy and Cobbs Comedy Club, and was part of the 2024 San Francisco International Comedy Competition. In addition to being on her way to becoming a powerful voice in comedy she is also known for producing and creating spaces where creativity and innovation thrives. Before becoming a comedian, Holly Shaw spent a lifetime on stage, T.V. and film as an actor, professional dancer and later as a speaker, coach and hypnotherapist. She's authored and published two books: The Creative Formula and Making Art In the Middle of Madness, and is currently working on her third: Queen Years: How Stand-Up Comedy Taught Me To Step Into My Queen Years.
