Backyard Birds and Bird Habitats
A Marin Master Gardener Presentation
Backyard birding is easy, interesting and a lot of fun! Learn from Bob Mauceli how to see our backyard birds more easily by building a simple, sustainable bird-friendly habitat in your backyard.
About 500 species of birds have been seen in Marin County, and you can see a good number of them just by looking out your backyard windows.
Marin Master Gardener Bob Mauceli will help you learn more about some of the most frequently seen backyard birds.
He’ll also give you some pointers on how to make these birds easier to see by building a simple, sustainable bird-friendly habitat in your backyard.
Bob Mauceli has been a Master Gardener for 20 years – nine years in Monroe County, NY, and more than 10 years in Marin County. Bob is a co-founder of the Marin Master Gardener (MMG) Native Plants Guild, co-lead of the MMG Help Desk Team and a member of the MMG Fire-smart Project Team. He is also a member of the California Native Plant Society, Marin Audubon Society and a long-time birder. Bob talks about gardening with native California plants, building home habitat corridor gardens, attracting birds to home gardens and turning home landscapes into wildfire-smart landscapes.
